New Radiant is in trouble after failing to give the salary.

Male’, MALDIVES – Players of New Radiant Sports Club refused to attend the practices from today due to salary issues. A reliable source has confirmed to Maldivesoccer.com that nearly five players attended todays training session.

A player who refused to mention his name said to Maldivesoccer.com that they didn’t get their salary for the last two and half months.

“We were not paid for the last two and half month. And they gave 15 days salary for the month of January.”

“The club officials are saying that they didn’t get any income and even they didn’t get the price money from FAM so they cannot give salary. But that’s something not related to us. In our contract it clearly says that we must get our salary every month. We don’t have to check whether the clubs gets any money or not.” Said a player.

Some players also said that there are few players who are even playing without any official contract.

“There are three players who are playing without a contract and every time when they talk with the management about the contract they are saying that they will sign it very soon.” This is how the management is treating the players.

“Our foreign players are also in a bad situation. They didn’t have a washing machine in their apartment and they are coming to Male for laundry.”

“Manager, Ameen didn’t answer the phone when we contacted him but today he called and said that we have to attend to the practices even if were not paid.” Said a player, who also didn’t want to mention his name.

We were unable to get a comment from manager Ameen Faisal as his phone was switched off when Malivesoccer.com contacted him.

The new football season has hardly begun and here we are with the mother of all problems. Maldives biggest club is unable to give salaries to their players and some players haven’t got their dues for as long as two months. What on earth is going on? FAM last years started the new season with of fanfare and money in the form of millions for the clubs on annual basis. What has happened to those promised million of rufiyaa at the beginning of the season? Clearly the stories of foreign players having suffered at the hand of their club who either refused to pay and failed to pay because they have no money is nothing new, but this is now becoming an embarrassing trend, these players running from pillar to post even to wash their clothes. It is a real shame. Whoever preside over this kind of apathy should resign immediately and vacate the place to somebody else. This the height of inefficacy!

I think FAM, the government and mostly the club are to blame. I salute the players who are trying to keep the league going but at this rate I doubt this league will continue.

Club blaming FAM for prize money is something very childish. How much is the price money? 350k? Still how are you managing to pay all the salaries? FAM does not need to take responsibility of unpaid salaries. Balack ran the club for 4 years and we never heard these stories. So "be a man" and respect these talented players. Childish excuses were managed by players earlier but not today. If you have a contracted player, honor it as they aren't slaves of yours to command whatever you want.

i totally agree players money shouldn't depend on prize money. That's non-extstent management. At the same time, we have to agree prize money shouldn't be conditioned by complaints by players about salary. If that's the case the current season's prize money should be announced and decribed as conditional; based on FAM's decisions about financial matters; not on winning the league!
