Blues increase the gap

Male’, MALDIVES – New Radiant Sports Club managed to get a four point lead at the top of Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League after a 3-1 win against Club Valencia tonight.

New Radiant started the game with their defender Rilwan Waheed and keeper Alisher who were suspended for the last game.

New Radiant’s foreign striker Alamu Bukola opened the scoring from a wonderful volley inside the box giving no chance for the keeper to save it.

Seven minutes later, Ibrahim Fazeel made a stunning shot inside the box unfortunately it went wide.

In the 34th minute, Bukola missed another good chance to increase the margin when he shot the ball to the gloves of the keeper inside the six-yard box.

Ten minutes before the break Valencia’s Mirchev leveled the game from the spot when referee awarded them a penalty for a handball from Rilwan.

In the 61st minute, Ibrahim Fazeel took the lead for the Blues for the second time after a good solo effort when he received a through pass from Hamza.

Six minutes before the normal time Mirchev missed a golden opportunity to level the game for the second time but shot it inches away from the post.

In the additional time Hamza changed the score to 3-1 after a good solo effort inside the box.

With this win New Radiant took a four point lead on the top of the table with thirteen points from five games. Second placed Eagles got nine points from five games.
