Male’, MALDIVES – Two very late goals from Ibrahim Fazeel and Ali Fasir helped defending champions New Radiant to win the opening game of Ooredoo Premier League by 3-1.

isn't this a new league or is it a old league re-branded? I see it mentioned 2015 as the first season of dhivehi premier league in most news...if so how can there be a defending champion for premier league? Even this new league is not going to promote Maldivian football because it is the same old number teams, same teams, same players not much difference from what we had previously.

With respect that comment is too negative to have any positive impact. My personal view is that some good things have been done that should have been done a long time ago and I give credit to the current FAM and especially FIFA and AFC for giving us the time and space. Also, all those who are sponsoring the changes in various ways deserve some recognition. The clubs are doing a bit too but I do feel though, the clubs need to do more to become more self-sufficient and find creative ways to improve football in the long-run.

Very lucky game for New Radiant, Victory was better team and the result is not fair.If blues keep playing same style they can't do anything.
