Eagles finish with a win

Male’, MALDIVES – Club Eagles finished this year’s Dhiraagu Dhivehi League with a 4-3 win against Victory Sports Club today in their last game of Dhiraagu Dhivehi League.

Eagles opened the scoring from a penalty kick by their skipper Ismail Easa when referee awarded them a penalty when Mazhar brought down Muslih inside the box.

Nine minutes later Eagles' Ansar doubled the lead from a wonderful header inside the box from a deflected cross taken by Easa.

In the 41st minute, Shimaz tested keeper Labaan from a good shot inside the box which Labaan cleared and Shimaz’s shot went wide from the rebounded ball.

In the 58th minute Mahroos increased the margin for Eagles from a descent strike from the edge of the box.

Five minute later Kaka scored for Victory from a good shot inside the box, which went into the bottom corner of the net.

In the 60th minute, referee awarded a penalty for Victory when Hamdhoon brought down Kaka but Ismail Mohamed’s penalty was saved by keeper Labaan.

Three minutes later, Awmilo scored and decreased the margin from a good strike which he lobbed the ball over the keeper from outside the box.

Six minutes before the normal time Kaka scored his second of the day from another descent shot inside the box.

Tonight champions New Radiant will play against Maziya in the last game of this year’s league.

Eagles played most of their under-21 squad in this match. I like how they are not afraid of introducing young players to the top level.
