Eagles moved to the top of the table after beating New Radiant by 2-0.

Male’, MALDIVES – Club Eagles moved to the top of the table after beating defending champions New Radiant by 2-0 in Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League.

Club Eagles got 26 points from 12 games and second placed Maziya got 24 points 11 games. If Maziya fails to win their match against Valencia tonight Eagles will lead the table.

New Radiant faced a big blow in the 7th minute when they were forced to substitute their skipper Mohamed Rasheed due to a shoulder injury.

Mohamed Seddik broke the deadlock in the 18th minute from a descent shot inside the box.

Eagles doubled the lead from a penalty by Mohamed Seddik in the 47th minute. Referee awarded them a penalty when Karam brought down Seddik inside the box.

Rizuwan missed a golden opportunity to increase the margin in the 65th minute after a receiving a good pass from Seddik and shot it wide.

Maziya will play against Club Valencia tonight at 2100 hours.
