Easy win for Mahibadhoo

Male’, MALDIVES – Mahibadhoo Sports Club won the match against Club Valencia today by 3-0 in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi League.

Valencia created the first chance in the match from a shot made by Ismail Ahmed inside the box. His shot went straight to the keeper.

Four minutes later Abdulla Midhuhath made a good shot on target just out side the box but keeper Ifrah saves the ball.

Mahibadhoo broke the deadlock in the 26th minute by Hussain Niyaz. He beat his marker and shot it into the far corner of the goal.

Ten minutes later Niyaz doubled the lead from a wonderful shot inside the box from a descent pass from Midhuhath.

Two minutes after the break Ismail Ahmed made a good shot just out side the box but it went over the bar.

Eight minutes before the normal time, Haneef made a good shot inside the box but it was deflected for a corner kick.

A minute later Valencia created another goal scoring opportunity. Mahibadhoo players cleared Shaffaz’s back heel on target inside the box.

Ismail Nazeer scored Mahibadhoo’s third goal just within a minute after his introduction to the match. His shot inside the box went straight to the far corner of the goal from a wonderful cross taken by Tahi.

In the post match press conference Valencia coach Mohamed Shahid said that he was not happy with the performance of the team.

“I am not happy with the performance of the team and now we are in a critical situation to be in the top six of the league.”

“We are lacking a player to finish the chances that we get and we need a top striker.”

“Still we hope to be in the top six and I think it will be a difficult task for us with today’s result.”

Mahibadhoo coach Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan) said that he is happy with the performance of the team.

“I am very happy with the result and the performance of the team. We started the match to press hard and create good chances and we took the lead early and which helped us to dominate the game.”

“This result will help us to increase the confidence level of the players. Winning a game against Valencia is difficult and we have to work hard to be in the top six”
