Kathmandu, NEPAL - Maldives coach Istavan Urbanyi expressed his excitement after the glorious win over Sri Lanka in the opening game for Maldives in the SAFF championship 2013.

“I feel happy about the result. I was excited that lots of goals were scored” expressed his excitement in the post-match press conference.

He also said that he was lucky that he could go to Thailand for training camp as he was able to see Sri Lanka preparations that he could plan his game based on their preparations.

“I was a bit lucky, we had our training camp in Bangkok, Thailand and I had a chance to see Sri Lanka practice and I created my game plan based on that”

He also added that after the red card when Sri Lanka was down to ten men Maldives got more chances.

“After the red card we got more chances “

He also praised the performance of Ashfaq for his extra ordinary performance.

“This is an extra ordinary performance from him, I appreciate the performance. Generally speaking this was a team result”

Though Maldives win on a huge margin, coach Istavan believed that there are lot of things to change and improve.

“This is the first match, I can see the weakness and lot of things to face and change, so we have a lot to do"

Istavan Urbanyi <<<< He is the hero ! he changed the lvl of maldives national team!! he brought a new style of playing!! he changed the long ball game to a quick short passing game ! he changed the defensive game which maldives have been playing in past years to a full attacking game !! now we are seeing players playing with confident !! in past 4 years he did a great job !! thank u coach !! you own our respect

national team coach can't change so many things because work with the players only 1-2 weeks per year... clubs coaches changing all this things because work every day with this players during the whole year.... so we must thank to new radiant

i agree with u 99% !! but u are missing 1 point !! i think we cant come to this level without our clubs coach's so thanks to them!! and i agree that this new style maldives is playing came from Urbanyi !! he is the master mind !! he realy did change the maldivian football !! hope he would be as a coach for a long time !! cause for him he took 4 years to show us what is he's style of playing ! i wonder how maldives will play after like 5 years !! if Urbanyi is here im sure we gonna see maldives competing with asian countrys! hope to see this

cingra n happy to see maldives won , i saw the match on tvm, commentators talking like newradiant is playing todays match always talking about newradiant players and their combination, dear tvm this is national team more than 200.000 people watching this game not only newradiant there are other team players, in the team never mention their team also , i know newradian is the best team but respect the other teams also, try to keep the national unity when national team playing,when you are in LIVE, in tv

Did you watch the last World Cup?? Commentators often talk about Barcelona when Spain plays. coz they play like Barcelona with many Barcelona players. Thats the TRUTH... Similarly Maldives play with many New Radiant palyers so they combine well.. HAJAM plzz
