Male’, MALDIVES – FA Cup 2012 matches have been postponed as Independence Day celebration activities are postponed due to heavy rain in Male' last night. Speaking to maldivesoccer.com, an official of Football Association of Maldives (FAM) confirmed that the match between VB Addu FC and All Youth Linkage (AYL) is postponed to Monday and the subsequent matches will be postponed as well.

“The schedule will be postponed by a day. The match scheduled for tonight will be played tomorrow night”

Speaking to maldivesoccer.con, VB Addu FC’s coach Vanli said that the match against AYL will be difficult as they have been improving.

“We respect our opponent. They have been improving in the league and it would be a difficult game for us”

“Our midfielder Huseyin is injured. I believe it would take another 10 days for his recovery. But we have a game plan to replace him. We will fight for a win”

Earlier, AYL coach Athif (Aathee) said that they would take the game seriously, however the changes in schedule will affect the game.

“We will be taking the match seriously. But the changes in the schedule will have a huge impact. We have been preparing for the match based on the schedule. But it keeps on changing every four to five days. It would be a huge worry for all the coaches.”

“But we will take the game seriously”

Aathee also believes that there would be an impact to the game of VB Addu FC with the injury of their key midfielder.

“Cengiz’s injury would be a huge blow for them. But they have a strong bench and they could replace him. But it would definitely have an impact on their game”

With the change in schedule, New Radiant will be playing against Eagles on Tuesday and Victory will be playing against Valencia on Wednesday. In the fourth quarter final of the tournament last year’s runner up Maziya will be playing against Vyansa on Thursday night.
