FAM cancels previous suspensions

Male’, MALDIVES – Football Association of Maldives has cancelled previous suspensions that they have made before the normalization committee take over the governing body of Maldives football.

“The normalization committee has decided today to cancel all the suspensions that FAM has made on or before 1st December 2014.” In a press release from the Football Association of Maldives said today.

FIFA appointed five member normalization committee on 2nd December 2014 to run the Football Association of Maldives and to pass the new statutes of FAM.

FAM has recently passed the new statutes and has announced to host the new election of 22nd October this year.

Is this a political move by Shaveed and co. so as to appease a certain section of the so called “football family” ahead of FAM voting? Whatever it is, this kind of ad hoc and arbitrary decision without explanation will help nobody, rather it would set wrong precedent for successive FAM administrations.
