Ali Fasir was omitted from national squad last night.

Addu City, MALDIVES – National team coach has omitted New Radiant striker Ali Fasir and Ahmed Rizuwan from Eagles after the FA has found out that they played in a tournament in Eydhafushi yesterday without informing the national team officials.

National team started their practices today at 1600 hours at Addu Football Stadium with a squad of 38 players. However New Radiant and Maziya players are still training with their respective clubs as both clubs are gearing up for the final of this year's President's Cup final on Sunday.

This is the first the Ahmed Rizuwan was included in the senior national team squad but Ali Fasir was an important player who has performed well with the national team, however after a stellar performance with New Radiant last two seasons, his form has been an all time low this season.

What to say…very silly of youngster to throw away his first big break in the national squad..senior players like santey openly flout the rules in the perceived misconception that their importance to national team supersedes any misdemeanour on their part. The sooner they are made an example of the better for others thinking of following suit.

How come the biggest culprit of all, the one who refused to play in China match, not punished yet? He has more reasons than the players mentioned here to oblige with rules, not least because he was the captain. He has a green passport, a status only enjoyed by very few privileged people above Attorny General level. Even if he was taking treatment, emotional or physical, bedridden, or whatever ailment that was keeping him away, he owe it to the concerned authorities and most of all his loyal fans what was it that was keeping him away. Being a celebrity does not mean it comes with no responsibilities attached. He should be reprimanded for trivializing everything from captaincy, green passport to his fans. He has failed to do justice to the basic obligations he was supposed to uphold as a captain in spirit and person.

I've always admired Dhagry for his talent as a natural goal scorer but I agree too that he should have at the ver least explained his absence to the nation. That's what a leader should do and I believe ge has still got s chance to put it right by coming out straight about the games and training he missed.
