Ali Ashfaq will fly to Malaysia tomorrow night to sign for a Malaysian team

Male’, MALDIVES – Maldives ace striker Ali Ashfaq has said that he will not play for Under 23 team due to a personal problem in the Indonesia tournament.

Speaking to maldivesoccer.com Ashfaq has said that he will not play for U23 team during this tournament due to a personal reason and also he wants to give chance to young players.

“I want to give chances to the young players and if we are playing for the team in all these matches the young players will not get any experience. And also I have some personal things during that period.”

Director of national teams, Ali Suzain said that Ashfaq has informed that to FAM and they respect his decision.

“Ashfaq has informed us about it and we do respect to his decision.”

“Ali Fasir will replace Ashfaq and he will join the team.” Suzain said.

What is "respect"??? Suzain, can you please translate that to Dhivehi??!!!?? Look, Ashfaq clearly said he wants to give chance to the young players. And this tournament is NOT Olympic Games, this is just an amateur tournament. Then why we need to fight so hard to win this tournament using the over-age players???!!! For the sake of Maldivian football, please take ONLY the U-23 players!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!
