Congratulations to the players for getting Maldives first ever win in the Asian Games. However, let's not get carried away, as we beat the worst team in the tournament. I wish the Mahindra Rajapaksa Trophy was organised before the tournament so that the boys could have at least got a few games under their belt to prepare. But lack of foresight appears to be a problem throughout SAFF, and it is no surprise that none of the SAFF nations performed well in the tournament.

Good points, well-made Imma, particularly about the SAFF region and FAM's lack of vision.

Oh, finally a win! Something good to sign off a tournament even though this is nothing more than a consolation one. It will however lift the sagging confidence of our players who literary appeared at tournament unprepared. MAY BE FAM doent have that kind of money for friendlies or he ( Ilham sir) did not see the importance of it. Either way this will go down as yet another opportunity not fully utilised!
