Maziya won the match against Valencia by 2-0 today in the Presidents Cup

Addu City, MALDIVES – Maziya Sports and Recreation Club starts with a 2-0 win against Club Valencia today in their first match of President's Cup 2015. Ahmed Imaaz and Asadhulla Abdulla scored the goals for the Green Boys.

Maziya’s skipper Asadhulla Abdulla broke the deadlock in the 8th minute from a wonderful volley and before the break Ahmed Imaaz doubled the lead for them.

Maziya created good chances against Valencia even though they failed to convert more goals.

Maziya’s head coach Ali Suzain said after the game that he is very happy with result of this game.

“I am happy with the performance and the result of this game. We didn’t have many practice sessions with the full team unlike other teams as most of the players were with the national team. But I am happy with the performance”

On the other hand Valencia’s coach Mohamed Iqbal said Maziya is a very strong team compared to them but his team’s performance was good.

“When we compared with the players Maziya has a strong team but I am happy with the performance of my team today against them.”

“It will be difficult for us in the upcoming two games as we lost this game. But if we play like today against them I think we can get a good result.”

In this group Victory Sports Club will play against Club Eagles tomorrow.

Couple of months ago coach Iqbal was on a collision course with his team and management as if they were on the verge of a point of no return. The situation was untenable with the way he was taking on the club for the many of their perceived failures to land on good players and we thought he would be gone for good in a matter of days. But look now where we are, he is alive and kicking as their coach. Our football never ceases to amaze us..even off the field!!

Wow! New Radiant - The Blues, Maziya- The Green Boys. Is this an intiative undertaken by MS.I dont see these fancy names from other newspapers. Keep going, what is being decided for BG and Valencia, they will be eagerly waiting to hear what is given to them, after all they dont want be betrayed by your preferential treatment to certain clubs.
