Happy with the win says Phan

Male’, MALDIVES - Hanoi’s coach Phan Thanh Hung has said that they are happy with the win against Maziya in today’s AFC Cup group F match.

Speaking at the post match press conference Than Thanh Hung said that it was not an easy game but happy with the result.

“This is not an easy game because of the weather and the field and also it is an away game. Maziya is a strong side but we won the match and got three points and that’s the most important thing and we are happy about that.”

“In the first half we played good but in the second half we didn’t played that well because of the weather.”

He also said that Maziya played very well in the second half and presses a lot and managed to score.

“Maziya pressed a lot in the second half and it makes very difficult for us to play. We played so many games and the players tried to slow down the game but Maziya took advantage of that and scored a goal.”

Meanwhile, Maziya’s coach Ismail Mahfooz said that he didn’t expect this result even though the opponents team was better than Maziya.

“Hanoi is a good team but I didn’t expect this result. But in the first half we failed to implement what we planned to do.”

“We got two open chances to score and failed to convert those chances to goals and the opponents took advantage of that and score goals.”

Imma said that they tried to take advantage of the weather but failed to do so.

“I know that it would be difficult for them to play here and I tried to take advantage of that but we failed to do that on the field.”

“These are high level teams when compared to us and they are very organized.”

Imma also reiterated that he is happy with the performance from the new players he included in the starting lineup.

“We made some changes to the starting team and I am happy with the performance of the new comers in this match.”

“In away games we performed very well but in the home games our performance was not good. In away games we have three or four days with the players and they are doing everything based on our schedule so it help us a lot to prepare for these kind of game.”
