Male’, MALDIVES – Club Eagles secured a hard fought three points tonight after beating Victory Sports Club by 3-2 in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi League.

Eagles started the match without their important players like Adhuham and it seemed difficult for them to dominate the game in the first 15 minutes of the game.

Eagles first shot came in the 12th minute when Ismail Easa penetrated the defense line and made the shot but keeper cleared it.

Three minutes later Victory’s Awilo supplied a good ball into the box but Eagles skipper Assad Abdul Ghani cleared it before Viktor control the ball.

Easa made a good shot in the half an hour mark inside the box but it was deflected for a corner kick.

Eagles broke the deadlock in the 35th minute from a superb shot inside the box. Easa beat his marker and supplied the ball from the flank and Angel’s shot went straight to the far corner of the goal.

Fourteen minutes after the break Victory’s Ali Shareef made a big blunder and scored an own goal that doubled the lead for Eagles. He tried to clear the cross taken by Angle from the left flank.

Two minutes later Victory’s Awilo scored a wonderful goal inside the box to give them a hope to come back in the game.

Eagles increased the margin in the 78th minute from the substitute players Muslih. Easa played a vital role in this goal as well.

A minute later Imaz missed a golden opportunity to put his name on the score sheet. His shot inside the box hits the post and he made another shot from the rebounded ball but hits the cross bar.

Victory’s second goal of the game came just three minutes before the normal time from Viktor.

Victory’s head coach Athif said after the match that he was happy with the performance of the team even though they lost the game.

“I am very happy with the performance of my team even though we lost the game to Eagles. I can say that this is one of the best matches we saw in the league so far. It is very competitive and balanced game.”

“I won’t blame any player we can make mistakes and I do believe that everyone can’t perform at the same level in each and every game. So I would say it is a bad day for us and we were unlucky”

On the other hand Eagles assistant coach Nimadh said that they were not fully prepared for this game.

“We were not fully prepared for this game as it was re-scheduled for tonight and we had some problems to prepare for this game.”

“But we are happy in getting important three points against Victory and we need to improve a lot in the upcoming games as we are conceding a lot of goals in every match.”

In the next match of Dhiraagu Dhivehi League Club Valencia will play against Mahibadhoo tomorrow night at 2200 hours.

It was supposed to be played one night earlier. So if he is not prepared for the game now, than he could not have been ready for it before either!!!!!!!!!!!!!
