Imaz rescues Eagles

Male’, MALDIVES – Imaz scored in the dying minutes of the game to rescue Eagles from a defeat as their game against Victory finished 1-1.

In the 12th minute Viktor made a good shot just out side the box but it went over the bar.

Ten minutes later Awilo made a good shot on target but it went straight to the gloves of the keeper.

Viktor broke the deadlock for Victory in the 31st minute from a superb volley inside the box. Awilo passed the ball to Shimaz and he passes it to Viktor who was inside the box and shot into the top corner of the goal.

Nine minutes later Shimaz missed a golden opportunity to double the lead, keeper blocked his shot inside the box.

In the 60th minute, Angel Munoz made a stunning shot on goal outside the box but keeper Athif saved the ball.

In the last minute of the full time Ahmed Imaz level the game from a wonderful shot inside the box. A brilliant cross taken by Ahmed Rasheed from the right flank.

In the post match press conference Eagles assistant coach Shakir said that they were happy for getting a point in this match.

“We are happy for getting a point in this match. But this is a match that we can get an important three points.”

“We started the first half very slowly but in the second half we played well and created good chances but we failed to score a goal.”

Victory’s coach Mohamed Athif thanked the player’s performance in the team.

“We played well and showed what we practice in the last few days for this match.”

“I would like to thank Shimaz for coming to this match to play for us even though he has a final match (Baibalaa) tonight.”

In the next match of Dhiraagu Dhivehi League Mahibadhoo will play against Club Valencia tomorrow at 1600 hours.
