Male’, MALDIVES – Maldives national team goal keeper Imran Mohamed has done his Posterior Cruciate Ligament double bundle reconstruction surgery this afternoon in Ambani Hospital, Mumbai.

National team's sports physician Ahmed Shakeeb said that as per the Dr. Pardiwala it was a successful surgery and he can play competitive games after six months.

“As per the Dr. Pardiwala it was a successful surgery and he has also corrected his old injury to his patella. There was old avulsion injury to his patella for which debridement was done. No poleteus tear or any other injuries noted.”

“There was a posterior bundle total tear which normally does not tear but in his case it was torn. It was a good decision that he got operated.”

Shakeeb also said that tomorrow Dr. Pardiwala will make Imran walk on brace and Physio will be started. He will be able to run after four months and he can play competitive games after six months.”

Imran was injured during the match against Hong Kong in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying game.
