Japanese coach to join Maldives ladies team

Incheon, SOUTH KOREA – Naoko Kawanoto, the future head coach of Maldives women’s national team said that the Maldives players still need to improve their physical fitness and good preparation to get a good result in the matches.

“Maldives players need to improve their physical fitness and proper training to get good results in the international matches.” Speaking at the Athletes Village Naoko said.

“I know that there are very talented players within the team and yes still they need to improve their physical fitness. I have noticed that Fadhuwa Zahir and Farah Ahmed. They are very good players.”

Naoko will monitor all the practice sessions of the womens national team and the three matches in the group stage of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.

Head of women’s at the Football Association of Maldives, Mayan said that Naoko would monitor the practices and matches during the Asian Games.

“She would monitor the practices and matches during the games but will not guide the team during this tournament. She will join with us in October.”
