Mahibadhoo SC grants turf pitch

Male', MALDIVES - Mahibadhoo Sports Club has granted a turf pitch to ADH Atoll Education Centre. In a ceremony held at the Education Centre, the pitch was handed over to the school by former New Radiant and National Team striker Ahmed Thariq (Tom), who is the co-founder of Mahibadhoo Sports Club and also the current MP of Mahibadhoo constituency.

The pitch was developed with the assistance from Mirihi Island Resort. During the opening ceremony a special match between students of grade 4 and 5 and a selected team of Mahibadhoo Sports and Parliament members were played.

With the support of FAM balls were also donated to the centre.

Mahibadhoo Sports Club is the only island based football team taking part in Maldives Dhivehi Premier League. The island is credited with producing many talented footballers in the country such as Tom, keeper Imran, Asadhullah and Bokury.
