Mahibadhoo held Valencia

Male’, MALDIVES – Mahibadhoo Sports Club managed to get a point against Valencia tonight after a hard fought match with a result of 3-3.

Mahibadhoo played a good game and in the 6th minute Midhuhath took the lead for them from a superb free kick just outside the box.

After the goal from Mahibadhoo Valencia dominated the game and created good chances to score. Abdul Rasheed Mahir shot went wide in the 13th minute while in the 25th minute Muaz’s shot inside the box was blocked by keeper Arushad.

Valencia leveled the game in the 30th minute from a wonderful shot by their skipper Abdulla Haneef inside the box.

In the last minute before the break Mamdhooh’s shot was blocked by keeper Arushad.

Mahibadhoo’s Hussain Niyaz took the lead for them for the second time in the 64th minute after beating the keeper Ifrah.

But a minute later Ahmed Rilwan’s thunderbolt shot inside the box hits the roof of the net and Valencia leveled the game for the second time.

Valencia’s Abdul Rasheed Mahir took the lead for the first time in the match in the 76th minute. His shot was deflected and went straight to the bottom corner of the goal.

Two minutes before the normal time Ahmed Nishan scored an own goal to level the game. Nishan tried to clear the shot from Tahi but at the end it went straight to the goal.

Valencia’s coach Shahid said after the game he was happy with the performance but not with the result.

“I am happy with the performance of the team but the result is not good for me. It was a game that we can get three points and which is very important for us to be in the top 6 in the league.”

“We made some mistakes and concede the goals. We have experienced players but they failed to use that on the pitch.”

On the other hand, Mahibadhoo coach Mohamed Shiyaz (Mohan) said that he was happy for getting a point against Valencia.

“I am happy that we managed to get a point against Valencia but this is a match that we can get three points and we started the match to get three points.”

“We need to play more games to get match experiences which is something that we need most. “

In the next match of the league Maziya will play against AYL tomorrow night at 2200 hours.

Two points lost? Valencia needs to beat these teams to survive in the first division. Sad to see, from the coach's statements, that Valencia's main aim is to survive and not win trophies. "the times they r changin now"...
