Maldives 3-0 Qatar: Maldives won second friendly

Male’, MALDIVES – Maldives national women’s football team has won their second international friendly match against Qatar by 3-0 last night.

Maldives started the match very well and created some open chances to score. Maldives’ Fadhuwa Zahir broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute and in the last minute of the first half she scored another goal from a wonderful free kick.

Maldives scored their third goal in the 51st minute by Mariyam Mirufath.

Maldives who has also lost a friendly match by 7-0 against Bahrain in 2007 proved that they are in a good shape with today’s result.

After the match Maldives team coach, Ahmed Athif said that the team has improved a lot.

“The team has improved a lot. In the past the players are trying to minimize the goals conceded but now we can see that they dominate the game and trying to score goals.

i heard from Haveeru comments that this Qatar team is not their NT, i guess their under 23 or 19!!!! is this true???? from the pics in Haveeru also seems to support his rumor. Those girls really look teens of 14 or 15.
