Male’, MALDIVES – Maldives women’s football team lost their last game of the group against Bangladesh by 4-1 in the ongoing SAFF Women’s Football Tournament today.

Maldives needed a win against Bangladesh to qualify for the semifinal of the tournament after winning their first ever international win against Afghanistan two days back.

New Radiant striker Aishath Sama scored the only goal for Maldives against Bangladesh but unfortunately it was not enough for the island nation to book a place in the semifinal.

Bangladesh booked a place in the semifinal as the runner up of the group along with group winners India.

India will play against Sri Lanka in the first semifinal of the tournament while Bangladesh will play against Nepal.
