Why on earth our women team wants to play football in the first place? Get involved in a game more suited to our culture and which is not so aggressive in nature. Remember what happened to our beloved bashi team who wanted to spread the sagging popularity of this very feminist game to the far flung corners of Asia. They teach this thing to a group of young kids and come one year after to access their progress. Guess what happened? our bashi team was beaten, yes shockingly drubbed by the students. Our experienced, battle-hardened players just could not cope with young things!!

Why stop at Bashi? We taught the Germans and Brits on how to play Carrom and the same thing happened...it appears to be a mentality problem with us Maldivians. We start everything with a lot of enthusiasm, get reasonably good at it, realize that we are improving at it, then lose all willpower of taking it to the next level and stagnate back to where we started.
