Maziya 4 - 2 VB Addu FC: Maziya regains second place

Male', MALDIVES - Maziya Sports and Recreation Club regains the second place of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi League table after beating VB Addu FC 4 - 2 in the match played tonight. Maziya total their points to 29 and made 7 points closer to leaders New Radiant SC.

Just 3 minutes in to the game Maziya took the lead with a long-range shot by Ahmed Mohamed. His shot from middle of the VB half ended to the far bottom corner of the goal.

Five minutes later Ashad (Adey) leveled the game after finishing Ismail Mohamed (Issey)’s cross in to the goal from close range.

Assadhulla regained the lead for Maziya in the 11th minute, Ahmed Rasheed delivered a lower cross to face of the goal and Assadhullah made no mistake to net the ball from close range.

In the final minute of the first half Assdhulah made it 3 – 1, Assadhullah matched with Niyaz (Bokury)’s cross and shot the ball in to the goal giving no chance to goalkeeper Ziyazan.

Shamweel (Bonda) got enough space inside the penalty area in the 57th minute, but his shot went straight in to goalkeeper Imran's hand.

Adey well headed Issey's corner kick in the 64th minute, but Imran stretched and caught the ball.

Assadhulla missed a golden chance to complete his hat-trick in the 67th minute, Bokury gave a pass to Assadhulla when he was left unmarked inside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Ziyazan.

With a free kick from near the penalty area curved in to the left corner of the goal , Bokury extended the lead for Maziya in the 72nd minute.

VB went one man down in the 75th minute as Usta saw a red card for deliberately protesting against Referee's decision.

Five minutes remaining in the clock Abu cut the deficit for VB, after beating his marker Abu slide his shot from edge of the penalty area to the bottom corner of the goal.

In the next match of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi League 2012, New Radiant SC will play against Eagles tomorrow evening at 15:55pm.
