Maziya beat Valencia

Male’, MALDIVES – Maziya Sports and Recreation Club won the match against Club Valencia by 2-0 today. The two goals came in the first 25 minutes of the game from Mohamed Irufan and Asadhulla Abdulla.

Mohamed Irufan broke the deadlock in the 10th minute from a wonderful header inside the box from a cross supplied by Asadhulla.

Fourteen minutes later Asadhulla doubled the lead from a shot inside the box. Nashid grabs the ball from Haneef near the center circle and beat three players before passing the ball to unmarked Asadhullah, who sent the ball into the net.

Maziya went inches close to their third but Zhivko's header in the 27th minute hit the woodwork.

In the 53rd minute Nashid once again dribbled past two opponent players but his shot missed the target.

In the 80th minute Asadhlla troubled Valencia with a good shot inside the box but it went over the bar.

In the injury time Ibrahim Shiyam could have scored but he failed not once but thrice and finally keepee saved the ball.

New Radiant will play against AYL tonight at 2100 hours.
