Maziya departs to India

Male’, MALDIVES – Maziya Sports and Recreation Club has departed to Bengalore, India to play their first AFC Cup 2015 match against Bengalore FC.

Maziya confirmed a place in this year’s AFC Cup after a play off match against Philippines Ceres De Salle FC, which they won by 1-0. This will be their third consecutive year in AFC Cup representing Maldives in the prestigious regional tournament.

Bengalore FC is one of the best teams in India at the moment and they have players like Indian national team captain Suni Chehtri, Robin Singh and Australian striker Shawn Rooney.

Maziya lies in group E along with Indonesia’s Persipura Jayapura, Bengalore FC and Singapore’s Warriors FC.

New Radiant also will play their first game against Indonesia’s league champion Persib Bandung. They will leave to Indonesia tomorrow.
