Male’, MALDIVES - Maziya Sports and Recreation Club has failed to win their third home game in AFC Cup group F against Vietnam’s Hanoi TandT today after losing the match by 2-1.

Vietnamese champions Hanoi broke the deadlock in the 9th minute when Gonzalo Marronke converted from the spot and Nguyen Van Quyet doubled the lead for the visitors in 21st minute.

The visitors need a win to secure a place in the second round of the tournament and began the game with their attacking intensions clear and took the lead within just 10 minutes.

Samson Kayode then went close to a second on the 19th minute but Maziya goalkeeper Mohamed Imran blocked the ball away for a corner.

This is a good result given the team Maaziya has played against. Maaziya seems to be improving in their performance in their tournament. Hope they do even better in the final game.
