Mecano wins Enjoy Championship

Male’, MALDIVES – Sports Club Mecano has won the Enjoy Championship after beating Mahibadhoo Sports by 6-4 on penalties. During the normal time the match ended at 1-1 and Mahibadhoo’s Ali Shamin’s penalty costs the trophy for them.

Mahibadhoo, who has spent a lot for this tournament dominated the game in the first half and they broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute by Ibrahim Shathir. Abdulla Midhath Fahmy made a good shot on target but keeper blocked it and from the rebounded ball Shathir scored.

Sports Club Mecano made two changes when they start the second half and created some good chances to score. While Mahibadhoo also created some good chances and even hits the woodwork.

In the penalty Shoot out Mecano players scored their five penalties while Mahibadhoo’s Ali Shamin had his penalty saved by Mecano keeper Ali Abdulla.

Champion team won the trophy along with MVR 15,000 and runner up Mahibadhoo received MVR 7,000 as cash price. Best player of the tournament was Mecano’s Mohamed Imran and best keeper was Mecano’s Ali Abdulla.
