Narrow win for Blues

Male’, MALDIVES – New Radiant’s skipper Ashad Ali scored the only goal to win the match against BG Sports by 1-0 in the ongoing Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League.

New Radiant started the game very well and created good goal scoring chances. New Radiant opened the scoring in the 6th minute from a brilliant volley from skipper Ashad Ali.

BG Sports missed a golden opportunity to level the game in the 17th minute when Haisham shot wide inside the box from a descent pass from Shiyam.

New Radiant was unlucky not to double the lead in the 33rd minute when William hits the woodwork from a descent shot just out side the box.

Ten minutes after the break BG Sports keeper Ifrah made a world class save to stop the shot from Fasir and also the shot from William from the rebounded ball.

New Radiant introduced experienced midfielders Mohamed Shaffaz and Ibrahim Fazeel to strengthen their midfield.

Hamdhaan’s shot inside the box went wide in the last minute of the normal time while he was unmarked inside the box.

Victory will play against Valencia on Sunday night in the first match of week four of Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League.
