Nashid rescues Maziya

Male’, MALDIVES – Ahmed Nashid of Maziya Sports and Recreation Club scored a last minute goal to win the match against Victory Sports Club by 3-2 tonight in Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League.

Victory tested Maziya’s keeper Metiash in the 14th minute from a wonderful shot just outside the box, which was saved by the keeper.

In the half hour mark Victory’s Ahmed Niyaz made another descent shot unfortunately it went over the bar.

Four minutes later, Toni made a good header inside the box from Samdhooh’s corner kick wich went inches away from the post.

Three minutes before the break Pablo broke the deadlock for Maziya from a rebounded ball from a shot from Maziya player.

In the hour mark Maziya’s foreing player Toni hits the woodwork from a shot inside the box and Umair’s shot from the rebounded ball was deflected for a corner kick.

Nine minutes later Imaz dribbled inside the box and missed a golden opportunity to increase the margin but he shot it wide.

In the 71st minute, Ahmed Niyaz leveled the game for Victory from a superb pass from Omodu after a good solo effort.

Eight minutes later Omodu took the lead for Victory from a stunning shot on the edge of penalty area.

In the 83rd minute Mohamed Umair leveled the game for Maziya from a fine header inside the box.

In the additional time of the game Ahmed Nashid secured the three points for Maziya from a stunning header inside the box.

With this win Maziya managed to move to the second position of the table with 12 points from six games. League leaders New Radiant lies on top with 13 points from five games.
