Male’, MALDIVES – Football Association of Maldives has said that the new coach of national team will arrive to Maldives before the POMIS Cup which is scheduled to start later this month.
Speaking at a press conference held at FAM House normalization committee chairman Mohamed Shaweed said that they have decided a coach for the national team.
“We have decided a coach for the national team and he will arrive to Maldives before the POMIS Cup.”
“We have very important tournaments scheduled for this year and we want to win trophies. So have decided someone who could win a title for us.”
Shaweed also reiterated that they have come to a mutual understanding with the current coach, Drago Mamic to terminate his contract and he will leave us soon.
Under the helm of Drago Mamic Maldives won the bronze medal in AFC Challenge Cup held in Maldives last year and it was the first medal won by the Maldives in any tournament organized by the AFC.
