New Radiant 2 - 1 AYL: Blues maintain lead

Male', MALDIVES – New Radiant SC had maintained their lead on top after beating All Youth Linkage (AYL) 2 – 1 in the match played tonight. Fazeel (Oppo) and Ahmed Abdhulla (Lily) scored for New Radiant while Santos scored the only goal for AYL from the penalty spot.

5th minute of the game AYL created the first dangerous attempt of the game, Amir timely headed a corner kick on target but goalkeeper Imran punched out the ball.

Imran was forced to make another vital save in the 19th minute, Shauya got the ball all alone inside the penalty area but Imran came out and cleared the ball to a corner kick.

In the next minute Tom made volleyed Ashfaq’s free kick on target but keeper Siyaad dived and saved the ball.

Kingsley saw his powerful shot flying over the crossbar in the 36th minute. His shot from edge of the penalty area went inches over the goal.

New Radiant was awarded with a penalty kick in the 39th minute as Siyaad brought down Ashfaq inside the penalty area. Oppo scored from the spot to hand the lead for the Blues.

In the final minute of the first half Ashfaq found Tom from his cross but Tom’s header went wide off the target.

Five minutes in to the second half Shauya missed another scoring chance for AYL, his shot from left side the penalty area went wide.

Midhuhath missed a golden chance for New Radiant in the 66th minute, Ashfaq gave a good through pass but Midhuhath’s shot hit the wrong side of the net.

69th minute AYL got a penalty kick for Lily’s foul on Muaz. Santos scored from the spot and leveled the game.

Afradh’s cross from left flank hit the post and came back to play in the 73rd minute of the game.

Lily regains the lead for New Radiant in the 76th minute, his shot after matching with Oppo cross was hit in to the top roof of the goal.

Ten minutes remaining AYL got another penalty kick as Stephane went down with a foul by Kinglsey. This time Santos flayer the spot kick over the goal.
