New Radiant 3 points closer to league title

Male', MALDIVES - New Radiant SC has moved just 3 points closer to win Dhivehi League 2014 after beating Club Eagles 1 – 0 in the match played tonight. Akram scored the only goal of the game, as of now New Radiant has to grab 3 points from remaining 2 games in the League against Mahibadhoo and Maziya.

In the first minute of the game Niyaz tested goalkeeper Faisal with a long range shot from middle of Eagles half. Faisal dived and punched the ball to a corner kick.

Akram gifted the lead for New Radiant in the 11th minute, Akram headed Umair’s corner in to the goal while Faisal couldn’t do much to save it.

Numaan missed an open chance for Eagles in the seventeenth minute of the game. Numaan’s close range shot was too much elevated just in front of the goal.

Three minutes remaining in the first half Keeper Imran made a good save on Adhuham’s shot from inside the penalty area. And in next minute Imran made another save on Adhuham’s shot just in front of the goal.

Fourteen minutes remaining in the clock, Furuguan could have leveled the game for Eagles if he could have done a better on his free shot inside the penalty area. Imaaz delivered a good ball to unmarked Furugann but his shot went off the target.

David well headed Fasir’s left flank cross in the 88th minute, but it went direct in to keeper’s gloves.

In next minute New Radiant went one man down as substitute player Dane saw a straight red card for his dangerous foul.
