And again a match played in an empty stadium, even with free tickets!!!!! ::: Isn't this the best time to start playing HOME-AWAY football between Islands???? By playing like that i am not saying there will come 200 teams stong enough to play in AFC Champions League. But isn't it good even if we get 10 teams that are as good as the likes of new, Maziya. If the games are beeing played in their home island, i am sure that there WILL NOT be an empty stadium like what we see now!!!!

i agree with u the problem is then male teams will not win as the island players dont have to come to male to play in first division and then everybody will find out for real that the ydp sucks so there are no players to play for male` teams

I look forward to seeing Mahibadhoo's matches. Expect to see them bringing some noisy fans, like when Hurriyya played in the 1st Division in the late 90s. Like you said, it's a shame that we still don't have a Home-Away fixture schedule. I mean, come on, it's 2014! How can we still be so underdeveloped regarding our football? It's not like before, now air travel is a lot more advanced and there are even more routes travelling via the sea. We also have guest houses and accommodations fit enough for football teams in most of the big islands. We don't need 50,000 seat stadiums to play these matches, just a grass pitch and a stand is enough to play local league games. If Mahibadhoo can train on their island and travel to Male' for the Dhivehi League matches, surely the Male'-based teams can travel to other islands as well!

@kareem; I know what you mean there. And yes, that is maybe the thinking of Male people. BUT that will not be the case, just look at other leagues, people will be moving between clubs, just a few faithful will remain in their Island team finish his career there. If you want to take a local example, Huraa Ayya moved to Valencia!!! And as i said not every island will be able to build a good team but they may have one or two great talents, surely they will move to a big club based in another island. ::: And do not take me wrong, i am not cursing Male. these Male teams will also survive maybe they will be better. Its evident from other leagues that Capital city and other big cities will have bigger clubs. Lodon has Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs etc etc. So here also things will not be that different!!! Having said that i am just calling for EQUAL OPPORTUNITY for all. I am saying its not fair to play football ONLY in male.
