Male’, MALDIVES – Malaysia’s Super League outfit PDRM FA has given the green signal today to compete in the President of the Maldives Invitational Soccer Cup (POMIS CUP), which is scheduled to kick off on January 22.
Speaking to Maldivesoccer.com, PDRM FA’s player and Maldives national team striker Ali Ashfaq said that the club has accepted the invitation from the FAM.
“The club has accepted the offer from the FAM and I am really happy for getting the opportunity to play at National Football Stadium in front of Maldivian supporters after a long time.”
PDRM FA will be arriving to Maldives on 21st January for the tournament.
A reliable source has confirmed to Maldivesoccer.com that the second foreign team to compete in this tournament will be from Singapore and they have also given the green signal.
New Radiant, Maziya and Eagles will participate in POMIS Cup along with two foreign clubs. New Radiant is the most successful local club in the competition winning it 3 times.
POMIS Cup is scheduled to play from 22 to 28 January 2015.
