Male’, MALDIVES – Malaysia’s Super League club PDRM FA was offered to participate in the POMIS Cup along with some other Malaysian Clubs.

General Secretary of FAM Bassam Adheel Jaleel said that they have invited PDRM FA along with some other Malaysian clubs and Singapore’s Under 23 team.

“We have invited various clubs in Malaysia and PDRM as well but so far we didn’t get any formal confirmation. But some clubs have expressed their interest in this tournament.”

Maldives national team’s captain Ali Ashfaq has played a major role in promoting the PDRM FA to Malaysian Super League which will start in February next year.

The normalization committee formed by FIFA decided to re-start the POMIS Cup, after 10 years, to create hype.

New Radiant, Maziya and Eagles will participate in POMIS Cup along with two foreign clubs. New Radiant is the most successful local club in the competition winning it 3 times.

POMIS Cup is scheduled to play on 22-28 January 2015.

Exciting days for maldives football. And of course something to look forward to if it were ever to materlise . We never had the oppotunity of seeing a foriegn team comprising of maldivian player invited to play in Maldives. They day he left this shore a lot of football fans were despondent, with his depature to Malasiya a lot of fans stopped going to stadium. Sure many now will be hoping PDRM accept this offer from Maldives.
