Are the stars not aligned, moon and other planets in the wrong position in the space? What is wrong with our boy ali's stance just before he shoots a ball to goal. He is doing everything right till the final hurdle, and then something happens with that final goal scoring shoot. Somehow he is not getting it right, it go over the cross bar or by the time beat a defender and keeper he loses balance and hit the earth with a big thud. It has become a vicious cycles..his over eagerness to score a goal is ruining any shred of confidence that is left. Now all he has is 270 minutes of embressement in front of goal. He also looks top heavy, fitness is not so good.

He appears to have gained a few kilos during the off-season. I'm sure he'll be firing on all cylinders once he gains back the match fitness. I don't think this tournament was good for him. This was supposed to be a tournament about Maldivian clubs triumphing over richer foreign teams. Unfortunately all everyone seem to care about is Ashfaq. The spotlight is fixed firmly on him and he looks extremely uncomfortable.

I have observed all the three matches very closely, i can say with near certainly ashfaq's teammates purposely avoid passing to him even while he is positioned at good shooting range. Whether it is conspiracy by his teammates to put him under more pressure and prevent him from scoring a goal him at his own country is matter of intrigue. What we know is with each match the conspiracy is growing in stature and gaining ground. With each match his confidence takes a beating as he is ignored despite better positioned when the ball is played to another player who has slimmer chance of scoring. So the spectacle we see is danganday is being hung out to dry right in front of our eyes by their jealous team members.

I'm wondering what this man has eaten during off season. The lean Ashfaq is replaced by a bulky boy, the rippling muscles is replaced by flabby loose muscles. I was thinking a very professional team like pdrm would have done body fat percentage calculation and would make full use of it, how much each player should shed. It not like they are one of our own teams whose preparation regimen  does not include any physical fitness evaluation or any high protein diet complimentary to  how the training sessions evolve. Our players eat rice and rihaakuru or roshi and fish curry, and  some fruits once in a while. As for Ashfaq was he one of those guys who would lose his bulkiness along the way, not right in the beginning of the season.
