Philippines 0-0 AFghanistan: Goalless Draw

Hithadhoo, MALDIVES - Afghanistan and Philippines has ended in a goalless draw in the second match of the AFC Challenge Cup 2014, Group-B. Both teams created clear open chances but none ended fruitful.

Afghanistan started the match pressing forward but their 3 dangerous attempts in the first ten minutes ended in offside traps.

Half hour in play Schrock made a clever long range shot from just outside the center circle while Afghanistan goalkeeper was out of his position. However Schrock's shot missed the target and hit the top roof of the goal.

In the added minutes of the first half Philippines went close to take the lead, Juan's header from a corner kick was struck back to play after hitting the crossbar and when the rebounded ball was shoot it went direct in to goalkeeper's hand.

Fifteen minutes in to the second half De Jong tried with a long-range shot from outside the penalty area, but the powerful shot went inches away from the goal.

Five minutes later Afghanistan created their first dangerous attempt in second half Azadzoi saw his header from a corner kick wiped off the target from far post.

In the next minute Azadzoi missed a clear open chance, Azadzoi well matched with a high ball and he beats two defenders and when only keeper to beat his shot went far off the target.

Afghanistan goalkeeper Mansur produced an outstanding save in 74th minute. Sato fired a thunderbolt shot from outside the penalty area target to the top corner of the goal, but Mansur dived and punched the ball to a corner kick.

Five minutes later Schrock penetrated Afghanistan defense line and fired a shot from just inside the penalty area but it went out from near the post.

Six minute remaining in the clock Schrock tried his luck with another shot from outside the penalty area but it was again Mansur to save the day for Afghanistan with a perfect punch.

In the extra minutes of the second half Haroon saw is header from inside the penalty area blocked by the crossbar.

In the other hand Martin was disappointed by Mansur after another great save on a powerful shot.

After 4 added minutes, match ended in a goalless draw which kept Turkmenistan on top of the Group-B while Afghanistan and Philippines follow them with 1 point and Laos who loss their game 1 - 5 to Turkmenistan, lies in the bottom of the table.

In the next match of the AFC Challenge Cup 2014 Group-A, Myanmar will show up against Palestine tomorrow evening.
