Male', MALDIVES - New Radiant chairman Ali Waheed (Balak) has highlighted the importance of players trust in achieving success in football.

Balak, who is celebrating three years as New Radiant's chairman, today said the club's philosophy is to sign players on long term contracts.

"In the past players don't sign long term contracts with their clubs, usually they sign one year contracts. Today the tradition is different in New Radiant. Players sign two year and five year contracts because they trust me and my management" Balak said via club website newradiantsc.com

New Radiant has recently signed Akram and Shifan on two year contracts while yesterday Mohamed Rasheed (Hokey) penned a five year contract.

"Longer contracts will help players associate with the club and become a huge part of the club, especially younger players" Balak added.

Balak also said the club has done with transfers and believe with the new additions the club is ready for the huge challenge that awaits in next season.

Under Balak leadership New Radiant has won nine of the eleven local titles they competed in the last three years.

it seems to me that maldivians do not remember things or purposely forgetting things. if i am correct vb had players on long term contracts as well. what balak says is non sense. i am a true believer if the fam would give individuals clear guidelines what is necessary to run a football club in the country and if we could encourage europeans to create their own team with complete set up within 3-4 years long or short term would not matter. it is money only. there are no players and those who are better than the rest play for new radiant. i do not see a big thing here. only balak`s ego.
