There is no mention of the no confidence vote in the statutes of FAM. This is nothing more than a political game. If this happens this year every year the president and vice president will be changed and this would be fatal for football. The current administration should be given the opportunity to complete their term and after they there would be election.

The current management is not fit to run the Football Association of Maldives. They still have 4 years left in their tenure, and their first has been nothing but a disaster. If you want to watch a train wreck in slow motion, this is it. Our football has been dragged back to 1997 by these dunderhead politicians, who neither know anything about football nor care about developing and running Maldivian football. It's clear that clubs who voted for Ilham are deeply regretting their course of action last year. After the shenanigans ahead of the AFC Challenge Cup, Maldives effectively became the laughing stock inside AFC. What's more, we have politicians planted within the national team itself and are dictating which players and tactics to be used, effectively overriding the duties of the coach. Speaking of the coach, remember the fiasco while attempting to find a guy? Oh yeah, and they lost the FA Cup for God's sake! And how about diverting the original plans to build futsal pitches on prominent footballing islands in favour of Ilham and his friends islands? The list goes on. The current management should not be given any more time as they are a deeply corrupt entity and a cancer to our football, and like most cancers, they need to be dealt with quickly before the situation deteriorates even further.
