Male', MALDIVES - In the final match of Milo CMC 2015, STO won the match on penalties to be crowned as champions for the fourth time. The match was interesting right from the start as both STO and Allied have outstanding performers in their teams. Imran scored the first goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 10th minute. The penalty was awarded when the ball touched Sifag (cappi) hand in the penalty area.

After Immi’s goal pace of the game increased as Allied pushed to equalize. In fact, Allied could have equalized in the next minute had the shot of Otto did not go wide. To the surprise of everyone, at the 18th minute, Rippe equalized from a powerless shot. It was Otto who was in front of the goal keeper blocking his view that allowed Rippe’s shot to found the net.

The second half was more interesting as the game intensified. As the tension increased, Ali Sifag was cautioned for bringing down Mohamed Ismail who was speeding in the counter attack. In the 35th minute, Allied took the lead, by goal from Otto, after a beautiful piece of team work between Rippe and Otto.

In the 39th minute Shah of STO was cautioned. After Allied took the lead, STO changed their game plan a bit, pushed Imran forward. At the 36th minute Imran scored the equalizer to be awarded the “Allied Salhi Goal Scorer” award.

The match drew by 2-2 in regular times. STO won the match by 5-4 on penalties. Later Imran was declared as the man of the match and the best player of the tournament.

I salute the young energetic bunch of guys who are so dedicated and keen to conduct this Futsal tournament for the last ten years. Its a milestone they have achieved. The improvements we see as player from year to year seems tremendous. The technological advancements, the way they maintain players records, live updating and the marketing strategy and the transparent policies which all officials and players accept are strong leadership qualities of this bunch of guys. I thank clubmaldives team for the super discipline decisions they have taken so far to maintain this tournament with discipline . I urge youth ministry and the FA to give your maximum support to ClubMaldives to keep this game thrive in the country.
