Sadin rescues Maziya

Male’, MALDIVES – Maziya’s substitute player Mohamed Sadin scored the winning goal in the 85th minute to label a 2-1 wins against Club Eagles tonight in Dhiraagu Dhivehi League.

Key players from both the teams didn’t play in this match due to suspension and injury. Maziya's midfielder Mohamed Arif was suspended for this game due to two yellow cards while Abu did not play in this match due to injury. While, Eagles's defender Fairooz Adam Sameer was also suspended for this game with two yellow cards.

Hassan Adhuham beat his marker and made a good shot just after eight minutes from the kick off but keeper Imran saved the shot.

Maziya’s first attempt came from Ashad Ali in the 10th minute which hits the woodworks and keeper Faisal saved the rebounded ball.

Two minutes later Asadhulla controlled the ball inside the box and pass it to Nashid, but shot it wide.

Two minutes before the half an hour mark Asadhulla penetrated the defense line and supplied a good ball to Nashid which he shot wide.

Asadhulla Abdulla broke the deadlock in the 37th minute from a wonderful volley inside the box. Nashid supplied a good ball into the box from the right flank and Ashad Ali heads the ball to unmarked Asadhulla, who did the rest.

Two minutes before the break Maziya’s keeper Imran made a stunning save to stop the header from Ahmed Rasheed.

Imran was forced to block another good shot from Ansar in the 52nd minute to keep a clean sheet.

Seven minutes after the break, Mohamed Thasneem leveled the game from a fantastic header inside the box from a ball supplied by Ansar.

Substitute player Mohamed Sadin took the lead for Maziya for the second time from a brilliant pass from Asadhulla inside the box.

Eagles coach Ihusan Abdul Ghani said after the match his players performed well in the match.

“Our players performed well in the match but I am not happy that we failed to get at least a point against Maziya tonight.”

“I told my players to mark Sadin but they failed to mark him and which costs us a point tonight.”

Meanwhile Maziya coach Ali Suzain said that he was happy with the win but it was a difficult match.

“It was a difficult match for us but I am happy to get three points tonight.”

“Sadin is a skillful player and I have full confidence on him and I am sure he can change a game at any time.”

“Keeper Imran made two good saves in this match and he is performing very well in this season.”

One of Eagles supporter entered the pitch area and slaps assistant referee Jaufar after the match and Eagles coach Ihusan showed his frustration on that.

“Whoever it is I am not happy with those things. I know how these referees are preparing for the games and their quality. Even I have showed my frustrations to the referees during the match but I won’t say anything after the match.”
