Fasir to miss POMIS Cup due to injury.

Male', MALDIVES - Maldives national team and New Radiant Sports Club’s striker, Ali Fasir (Sentey) has undergone a minor surgery to take off a plate which was inserted in 2012 to support his leg due to an injury suffered during a national team practice match.

Speaking exclusively to maldivesoccer.com, Sentey expressed his feelings as he will miss the POMIS Cup.

“I feel bad because I won’t be able to play in POMIS Cup, which I really wanted to play.”

He also said that he’s hopeful to be fit for the AFC Cup 2015 and he’s doing well after the surgery undergone in ADK Hospital yesterday.

“According to the doctor I can join practices after a month. I’m hoping to be fit for the next year’s AFC Cup and I have no difficulties after the surgery. I’m doing well.”

Sentey is expected to discharge from the hospital day after tomorrow.

Take the rest necessary sentey. Don’t rush yourself into action. What happen so often with some of our players is they join practice before they are fully recovered, expose them to more injuries which in the long run hinder them to reach their full potential. We had been hearing for the five years that Adham would be the next dhangandey yet we are to see someone even closer to half-a-dhanganday. All we know is he keeps changing clubs like a dress and disappear from action for long stretch of time only to show a flash of brilliance here and there and then disappears. Is it injury or something else that is keeping him off the pitch?
