Adhuham would go down as one of the biggest regret of Maldives football. He had the potential to be the next dhangandey (yes, official benchmark) or even better than him yet due to various reasons we never saw his full potential. In a place like Maldives where such a gem comes once in a blue moon that is talent wasted. A lot was riding on him but his wrong choices and lack of disciplined approach to his football career ultimately undid one of the biggest stars of Maldives football firmament. A lesson other players should learn!

one thing i dont understand is that the reason these players reject AFC cup football in favour of local football. probably local football is higher than AFC cup level.

Many maldivians dont play football for the love of it, they play for the fun of it. Like everything else in life it constitues a way of escape from the realities of life. For them its not something they can take for a career even if they have telent. For them its more important to roam around in Male on bike, bellowing smoke into the night air, playing cards into the wee hour of morning or getting lost into your smart phone. We like the easy way out of life, it is in our blood, so we will be like that..
