I don't see any future for Maldives football if its going like this. Approximately 200 people went to the stadium for the opening match of our league. Most of them are newradiant fans. Other team does not have even this much fans to go stadium and support. Which means matches will be played in empty stadiums if newradiant is not playing. And I don't see any team who can complete/win against newradiant. Dear FAM if u want to continue league in this way than I think its a waste. Better we give the trophy to newradiant and stop this nonsense.

Its not totally FAM's fault. If the clubs wants supporters, have a good management. Who can execute professionally. FAM also can play a vital role in this, but its totally up to the founders and the board of the club. Contributors will donate to run the clubs if they are operating professionally and quality players will play if they are paid accordingly. And thus, supporters will enjoy seeing competitive matches.

So is this how the Dhivehi League is going to be again? New Radiant to bulldoze the league, Maziya a distant second. The rest of the teams way behind the pecking order. I wish I could see a more competitive season for once...

It will take some time for conditions to change. When people get tired of politics they will look for other venues of entertainment. Right now everyone is spending on politics and there is no money to be made in football. There is nothing FAM can do they will not get funds for any thing.

I am now wondering why FAM delayed the League in the first place. C'mon look at the stadium, not more than 200 supporters!!! This wont be enough to pay for electric bill of the stadium for that night??? And these are mostly (if not all) new radiant supporters so imagine the games of lower teams!!! So my big question is if the National stdaium was unavailable due to renovation, why FAM did not play the league in Henveyru ground or in the Turf ground!!! Ok yes there we can't sell tickets but is this really worth, just some 2000 rufiyaa from a league match??? This is utter stupidity and clear cluelessness of FAM!!!

There is a lot that can be done by all stakeholders of football. The Club managements need to be more organized and punctual in paying salaries and providing the needful to the players. Inform their supporters of the Club activities and match days. Players need to be professional all the time and not only when its pay day. They need to maintain their discipline and work hard to develop themselves physically and technically. FAM needs to be more organized, need to conduct heavy marketing and information regarding the matches. They can further look into the ticket prices and reduce it accordingly as people would not see it as a huge expense. They can facilitate teams in getting funds and educate the players as well as team managements. They can continue and develop the youth development program in order to develop the next generation of players. They can assist private or clubs youth systems. Supporters need to attend the matches and practice sessions to give support to their beloved clubs. They can also provide contribution to the team (any amount any month). Be more involved for the betterment of the sport. **just somethings to consider

Oh, thats indeed a lot!!!! But i am shocked that you did not mention the home-away system that we all are talking about. Not playing like that is actually the mother of all these problems!!! Look, supporters will support and donate when they have a sense of belongingness!!!! I am from raajjethere and WHY i have to support and donate to a club form Henveyru, Galolhu or Maanfannu???!!! To say the least i have no belongingess to anything in this Male, i am just living on rent, changing the house like a cat!!! Even the male people are so mixed that they have lost the rivalry between them!!!

My guess for a home and away league is that ::: Male will have three teams, New, Victory, Maaziya ::: Addu will have at least one club backed by VB ::: Laamu will have one team ::: Hinnavaru one team ::: Mahibadhoo one team backed by tom, imran and co ::: Maamigili one team backed by Buruma Qasim ::: Eydhafushi one team backed by Redwave saleem ::: Its already 8 team, and its very likely then Sun travel shiyaam will back a team from Meem atoll. These teams will be able to "live" and operate themselves or at least better than the current teams in Male. ::: So why we can't even try to see if this works out or not????
