TC beats Maziya

Male’, MALDIVES – TC Sports Club beat Maziya Sports and Recreation Club by 2-0 today in the ongoing Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League. Yameen Ibrahim and Naiz Hassan scored the two goals for TC Sports Club.

In the first minute Maziya’s keeper Pavel was forced to stop a superb shot from Azzam inside the six-yard box.

In the 12th minute Pablo puts the ball into the net from a wonderful pass from Asadhulla but the flag was up against Pablo.

TC Sports broke the deadlock in the 18th minute from a good shot from Yameen inside the box, which went to the top corner of the net.

In the 44th minute Maziya’s keeper Pavel cleared another good shot from TC Sports’s Naif on a one on one situation.

In the same minute Nashid penetrated the defense line of TC Sports and made a good shot just out side the box but it went wide.

In the extra time of the first half Naiz doubled the lead from a good shot inside the box.

In the 51st minute Azzam’s shot inside the box went straight to the keeper.

Maziya’s keeper Pavel was forced to stop another good shot from Nafiu.

A minute later Maziya created a good goal scoring opportunity. Keeper Imran blocked Pablo’s shot on target and Imaz made another good shot from the rebounded ball but keeper blocked it as well.

In the 87th minute, Ahmed Nizam hits the woodwork from a descent header inside the box.

With this win TC Sports managed to get seventeen points from eight games. League leaders New Radiant got 20 points from eight games.

Suzain is very weak coach but he is very lucky.Maziya played bad football only with long balls. TC missed to score 4-5 goals.Sure the team will be out of top 3.

Has Suzain lost his mojo? Or it is just that his team has achieved their target in Addu for the season and they dont want New Radient end their season empty handed?

Oh no! Maziya has imploded again. Just like last year. Close to the end of the league. They have been crowned the champions of presidents cup just few weeks ago and now gone off the boil so spectacularly. So much for Suzain the so called motivator. He has failed again at crucial games to lead his team when presented with the opputunity to leapfrog New Radinat to win the league for the first time. New Radiant, for all their knack of emerging stronger as the season goes on, has not been on a smooth ride either. In fact they are like a rocking boat with a new coach with key players not on best of form. But Suzain had failed to take avantage with a squad of which the bench strength is million times better than a certain Mahibadhoo team. So for the people who think he is better than Imma better reassess their apprisal of the man failing to buck the trend.
