Thoriq wins FAM election

Male’, MALDIVES – Former national team and Mahibadhoo constituency MP, Ahmed Thariq (Tom) won the election of Football Association.

Thariq won the election in the extra ordinary congress held at Dharubaaruge as the only candidate for the seat. Nineteen member clubs voted in favour of Thariq while two member clubs voted against.

Former national team captain Mohamed Kaleem, who was the captain of national team when Maldives won the silver medal in 1991 SAFF Games won the senior vice president and Ali Umar was elected as the second vice president.
