

Male’, MALDIVES – Ahmed Imaz of Club Eagles, Hassan Shifaz and Mohamed Shadhin of Maziya Sports and Recreation, along with Maziya’s Assitant Coach Mohamed Suwaid has been selected for a training program which is scheduled to take place at Japan for a period of three months.
According to Football Association of Maldives (FAM) the Under 22 players were selected based on the performance in the Youth Championship held earlier this year while the Coach was the Champion of last year’s Youth Championship.
Speaking at a press briefing after the announcement of the selected players, President of FAM, Ali Azim described the opportunity for the junior players as a golden opportunity to show their performance.
“In the long history of Maldivian football, this is the first time players are sent abroad for such training”.
“Practicing at one of the Asia’s best country is a golden opportunity for them”.
Azim also noted that based on their performance at the training camp, they have chance to show their talent at the J-League.
The training program will be held under the assistance of Japan Football Association.
