Male’, MALDIVES – Two brothers from Mahibadhoo, Ali Samooh and Gasim Samaam has joined with Presidents Cup winners, Maziya Sports and Recreation Club on a one year deal.

Ali Samooh, one of the most promising defenders in the country and has played against for the national team during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Bhutan and Qatar.

Gasim Samaam represented Maldives in the AFC U23 championship held in Oman this year along with his brother.

Maziya secured the signatures of four new players for the upcoming season and they are, Ashad Ali, Ismail Easa, Ali Samooh and Gasim Samaam.

Maziya will represent Maldives in the 2016 AFC Cup as the winners of Presidents Cup.

For the last two seasons Maziya had the best squad yet they contrived to make a mess of strong start to the season and lose the momentum in the second half of the season. If Maziya and Suzain are genuine contenders for the title they will first need to find a solution to this mid-season unravelling -- they come undone from a league winning position and it is certainly not due to lack of talents..
