UV stops Maziya

Male’, MALDIVES – United Victory stuns league leaders Maziya after a 1-1 draw in the ongoing Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League tonight.

United Victory’s Keric broke the deadlock in the second minute of the game from a penalty when referee awarded them a penalty for a handled ball inside the box.

In the 24th minute Maziya’s keeper Imran Mohamed was forced to stop another good shot from Keric.

In the 40th minute Haisham hits the cross bar and keeper Imran blocked the shot from Keric from the rebounded ball.

Ismail Easa leveled the game for Maziya in the 53rd minute after a good solo effort.

Asadhulla and Mohamed Umair made two great shots but went wide.

Hussain Niyaz’s shot in the additional time hits the post and United Victory’s Mazhar cleared the ball before cross the line.

Club Eagles will play against BG Sports tomorrow night.

Signs of inconsistency cropping up. Not surprising given Maziya coach has no time to devote to his team as he’s too preoccupied by Euro and the pre-match shows.
